Kathleen started her career in fashion, gaining a BA Hons in Fashion Design from the University of Leeds. Upon graduating and having completed a year in industry for the renowned British designer, Jenny Packham, she accepted a role as a garment technician at the company. Here she spent some years learning expert couture sewing techniques and insight into pattern drafting and draping, as well as the workings of a high-end fashion label.
Kathleen has always been passionate about film and theatre and the next step for her was to study a Masters in costume design at the London College of Fashion, where she graduated with distinction. During her time on the course she was able to expand her knowledge of costume making and design by creating costumes for short films, theatre and music videos.
After graduating, Kathleen worked in the costume department for the latest Paul Thomas Anderson movie, ‘Phantom Thread,’ starring Daniel Day Lewis. This gave her excellent insight into the running of a costume department on a big budget feature film. Since this opportunity, she has started on a career path in film, television and theatre. She has worked as a costume maker for the Sky One series, ‘Bounty Hunters 2’, the blockbuster HBO series 'Watchmen', the upcoming Pathe Films production, 'Misbehaviour,' and many other films and television shows. Kathleen works as a costume designer for commercials and advertisement campaigns, including the SEGA Tokyo Olympic commercial and the Madame Tussauds 2020 Campaign. Kathleen has also fulfilled the role of Costume Designer and maker for many theatre productions such as ‘The Three Muskateers’ (Iris Theatre), ‘The Importance of Being Ernest’ and ‘Lorna Doone’ (Pleasure Dome Theatre Company) and 'The Crucible' (The Yard.)
Kathleen is based from her studio in Central London and is available for freelance commissions and costume design and making roles for film, television, commercials and theatre.
